About Malaysia

Malaysia is a country of southeast Asia situated slightly on the northern third of the island of Borneo and slightly on a peninsula of the Asian mainland. West Malaysia shares its boundary with Thailand and linked through a bridge to the island state of Singapore and has seaboard on the South China Sea and Straits of Malacca. East Malaysia associated with Indonesia and Brunei. It is the 66th largest country by the range and two-third portion of Malaysia is wrapped with forest some of which are believed to be 130 years old.

Kuala Lumpur the capital, is the most populous city of Malaysia. It is the main commercial and business centre of Malaysia. The senate of Malaysia and the palace of the king are also situated in the Kuala Lumpur. Once this city was the home to the managerial and judicial departments of government but in the starting of 1999, they were shifted to Putrajaya, only some branches of the judiciary still survive in Kuala Lumpur. Malaysia has one of the greatest histories of the economy in Asia. It has advanced into a hub of Islamic banking and is the country with a paramount figure of female workers in this industry.

The temperature is softened by the presence of the enclosing oceans. Climate variation is likely to influence rainfall and sea levels, expanding flood risks and leading to famine. Malaysian Ringgit, formerly called the Malaysian dollar is the currency of Malaysia. Symbol MYR is used to represent it. Malay is the official language and generally spoken by the huge population of Malaysia. It’s words come from Hindi, Persian, Sanskrit and Tamil. English is extensively used in commercial and professional fields. Malaysia is multi-religion country and multicultural country.

Student Visa Requirements

The Malaysian Govt does not allow student Visa stamping outside Malaysia, therefore the student shall have to travel to Malaysia on a tourist Visa. On arrival at the University, the International student Card shall be issued to the student and the passport taken for stamping of the student visa by the University authorities. The documents required are as follows:
• International Passport valid for at least 6 months.
• Two passport-size photos.
• Fee
• Two completed and signed application forms
• Proof of sufficient funds (including original and photocopy of most recent bank statement).
• Onward or return ticket or travel itinerary from travel agent.
• Compulsory yellow fever vaccination certificate for all visitors coming from infected areas as listed by World Health Organisation.
• Letter of introduction (and copy) from college or university.
Upon submitting the application candidates are also required to submit a copy of their passport. Original passports would only be required for authentication. The embassy has the reserve right for asking any other authentication. Incomplete applications would not be accepted. Visa processing depends upon the nationality of the candidate. All regulations consular fees or services are subject to change without any prior notice.
